Coffee with Isbah
Welcome to "coffee with isbah" your host isbah will be interviewing "Mim" the dwarf from "Children's of Húrin".
Isbah: Welcome Mr Mim, why dint you start off by telling me a little about you, your life?
Mim: Well first I'd like to start off with the fact that I'm a dwarf, I protect myself ONLY and I care for myself only. As a dwarf, my motives and goals are not much, just to keep myself safe.
Isbah: So Mr Mim, why did Túrin wish to capture you? And how did you feel about this?
Mim: Androg thought that I was an ore, one of his people claimed that I should deserve no less by cheating on their hopes. I definitely felt angry, scared and wanted to take revenge.
Isbah: Why did you repent your promise that you made with Túrin? What did Túrin say afterwards?
Mim: This is because Túrin and his people set me in bonds and Dwarfs do not forgive that. Túrin then accepted his mistake and told me how I may die but not be set in bonds again, and so I forgave him for his wrong doings.
Isbah: interesting, why exactly did Túrin do such a thing?
Mim: Túrin did this because he was suspicious that I might be tricking him and his people.
Isbah: So Mr Mim, what do personally think about Túrin compared to the other outlaws?
Mim: I like Túrin because he is very easy to convince and is a big hearted person, the other outlaws are don't care and just want their opinion to be heard and followed.
Isbah: What would you do if you had all the power in your group?
Mim: I would make the right choices, definitely do as much as I can for myself, and I would make my people work hard.
Isbah: Very well, thank you very much Mr Mim, it easy nice having you as and guest. Thanks for your time and effort.
Mim: My pleasure.
Isbah: And you're watching "coffee with isbah" come back again next
Brandir's Journal (Bilal Haider Syed)
Dear Journal,
What am I to do? My chest bleeds love from a heartstricken wound. Not any of my herbal antidotes would be able to heal, even slightly, the hole that was once whole. My heart has never gone as low for another as it did for Nienor. And now that I had finally seen someone that could share in my company, and sit on the seat next to me during stormy days, the storm swept the seat away and replaced it with a bitter cold breeze that will stay till the house itself falls and fails.
That storm is the presence of Turambar. First he stole my seat as ruler of Brethil, then he snatched away the weight of my councils, and then he stripped me of whatever dignity I once held and now I am but a nurse that heals the respected wounded. Yet none of those knives stabs deeper than the sword of fair Nienor.
Ah, Nienor. In the morning, I and she would go for strolls in the lush forest, beyond the sight of Brethilians and I would teach her the wonders of the different plants that dwelt there. She would, at times, take notes and how I watched her concentration. Even when she did not take notes, she focused on every word I said and never did she ignore me or even lose interest in what I said. I and she had quite similar interests. Both of us loved the lore of herbs and medicine, as well as the calmness of silence. She also dealt with me in a way that put to notice my hurt, but she formed every action so that I did not mind it. In fact, whatever I taught, she learned. Whatever I glanced, she observed. Whatever I said she wrote. Whatever I deemed good, she ranked heavenly. Whatever I deemed bad, she called the equal of that of poison. All except Turin.
I told her to wait, she rushed. I told her to be skeptical, she went blind. I told her to recall the past, she dreamed of the future. I told her to think, she loved. I told her to think of me and she thought of him! And she paid dearly for not heeding my suggestions. Alas she died! She died of sorrow of Turin’s existence. She died cursing the day she laid eyes on Turambar! Yet all that could have been stalled if she had just waited. Glaurung would have told the secrets that were held within his throat and once Turin slit it, the truth would have spilled out. And she would have thanked me for stopping her from sinning.
There is no such herb in all of Middle-earth that can bring back life and so why should I keep mine. My eyes grew dependant of Nenor’s sight and but a glimpse of her filled me with enough energy to last a day. But now the source of my energy has withered, and of course, if the sun were to stop rising in the morning, the plant would surely die. So is the case with me. All my desires of worldly desires were overshadowed by Nienor, and she has taken them along with her, but I sob at the fact that I did not leave this horrid world alongside her. Now I wish for a ticket to take me to her designation and there I will recover everything that I lost and even more. May Turin live a long life or may Morgoth take him in an undying sleep so that I and Nienor will live together undisturbed. I pray now, come ticket for my love has purchased you and now I wait for the gift to come in any shape. My only wish is to die!
Love, Brandir
